Earth balloon



The Earth Balloon’s arrival at Hillside School was a thrilling learning experience for ALL of our second graders. Our classes had the opportunity to explore it for 45 minutes each. The students were amazed by its size (about 20 feet in diameter), and were able to identify the continents and oceans.

This model provided a new perspective of our planet and helped the students understand our place in it. They were able to apply their map skills including relative location, using distance, direction and scale.

The most unique and exciting feature was when the students entered the globe and viewed our planet as never before. Our presenter, Mrs. Jancz-Urban was enthusiastic, engaging, fun, and informative as we explored our earth.
